Michael watched as Macen drifted off to sleep. He began to worry about the homonculus situation and what it might bring in terms of trouble.
"I don't know, there are always conspiracy theories about corruption in the military. What makes you think this one is true?" Michael said begining to pace. "If it were a military coverup then don't you think that they would be able to hide it better?"
Michael closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose. He began thinking of a way around all of this.
"If this is a cover-up or there is corruption, anyone involved will be killed. I can't allow that to happen to you, I want you to stay away. I will investigate and go as deep into this as I can but you must promise me to not get involved."

Kandee narrowed her blue eyes. "Eventually it would be figured out. That girl is smart, and I believe her. I don't think someone who wants to be in the military would lie like that." she hused her voice lower as Macen began to stir.
"Don't you dare tell me to stay out of this Corsair. I'm not going to be killed. I may not look like it, but I can handle it. What you want doesn't matter, I want to investigate this further. I need to know what is happening. Its my curse of curiosity that drives me to stay here, and for my son. That homunculis could have hurt my baby, and I want revenge."
Kandee removed the bottle from the baby's mouth, and held him closer.

Michael was at a loss for words, he knew he couldn't control her but he would still try.
"What if there are more than just one homonculis? What if there are dozens? We have to be cautious, we may be getting in way over our heads."
Michael walked over the window and looked outside into the courtyard. He saw Lockheed walking apparently still recovering from their bout. He knew Lockheed had as much to lose as he did if it were to leak out. Lockheed looked up and they locked glares.
"I realize what I want doesn't mean shit to you. But I want you to think about this, can you really protect your son from an unknown force that could be as big as the military?"

Kandee scowled, and set her son on the hospital bed, and went to the cabinet and surrounded him in pillows. She would be here for a while, she knew it.
"Then we'll inform Mustang." she said, knowing Mustang would like to here that. But then, maybe she wouldn't.
Kandee crossed her arms, and sighed. She then looked up at Corsair, and pushed a black strand of her blonde hair with black streaks from her face. "They won't touch him." she said, firm in that belief.

Michael smiled on the inside at Kandee's strong spirit.
"Hell hath no fury like a woman's skorn," Michael mumbled to himself then said with more boom in his voice, "They better not touch him."
He picked up some of the bloody cloths Kandee used to clean him up with. He increased their temperature until they combusted and he watched as the cloths turned to ash.
"For their sake," with that he walked out of the room throwing the ash into the waste basket.

Kandee sat on the edge, running her fingertips across Macen's forhead. She looked at Corsair, saying, "Because if they do, they'll have to kill me." she said, and it was the whole truth. Sure, being a mom was a pain in the butt, but she wouldn't trade it for the world.
As Corsair began to leave, she thought about their kiss. She wanted it again. She loved her husband, but she knew that he hated it when she cried. Kanee stood up, and walked behind Corsair, and tapped his shoulder.

Michael felt the tap on his shoulder. He semi-quickly turned around, and saw Kandee standing inches away. He saw the desire in her eyes, but also the pain. He didn't like seeing her like this. He pulled her slowly closer to him, hugged her, and kissed the top of her head, "Its ok, things will be fine... I wont let anything happen to you."

Kandee put her arms around his back, and said, "I know. I have to find out. That girl...I don't want anything to happen to her either. Or any of the kids in the military. Or my son. But I have to find out. I have to." she said, and looked up, and touched his lips with hers lightly.

Michael pulled her closer and fully embraced her in a kiss. He pulled away after about 15 seconds, "I know, everything will be fine. This can't be that big, and we will get to the bottom of it."
Michael didn't really believe it would be easy, he knew he was probably going to die. This had to run pretty deep, but he didn't care. If he died so others could live, he would take it.

"Not yet." she said, thinking logically. "Mustang cannot know yet, and I'll have the break into records at the library, considering the brass would never give us permission to look into private files without a good reason." she said, and let go of him.
"But then again, it won't be that hard to break into the files."

"Alright I will leave it in your hands," Michael said as he walked out of the room.
I have to go clean my office, this is going to be a pain in the ass after that fight.
