She hadn't been here in a long while. A very long while. Her soft footsteps crunched the grass, the wind blowing her hair back slightly. Soon she reached the grave. The headstone read:
Juliana Curtis
She will always remain in our hearts forever

Cade's heart grew hard. Her fist tightened around the three roses in her hand. Cade didn't notice the thorns going through her palms. Her heart wreched painfully, beating hard, her eyebrows furrowing. Cade suddenly gasped, and dropped the roses, the blood coming from her palms. They dropped, and fell upon the grave, a few petals scattering. The wind picked them up. Cade dropped to her knees, and looked ahead. She just couldn't cry. She hadn't since she was ten. No matter how hard she tried, not a single tear happened. Next to the grave, was a smaller headstone. It read:
Joshua Curtis
Died Newborn
Be in heaven again

Now Cade's eyes glanced upon it. That's why she didn't come here often. Under the ground beneath that headstone...was nothing. There never will be. Cade closed her eyes tight, and grabbed her knees tightly. She bowed her head, and opened her eyes, trying to breath. The memories were flashing back. They rushed through her mind...Cade heard her mother's final scream...
Her blackout then stopped. Cade came back to reality, the sweat streaming down her forhead and face. She gasped for breath, still clutching her knees. Cade picked up one of the roses, and rolled it softly in her hand. She placed it across his grave. "I'm so sorry..." she whispered, and touched the headstone. Her blood smeared on it accidently, and Cade drew back, and looked at both her palms, which the puncture wounds from the roses were bleeding. "I'd rather have given up my own blood." she said quietly, hate in her voice. "Damn it." she said, and grabbed her hair. "Stop it." she said, her voice straning quietly. "Damn memories!" she said, exasperatly. "Just...stop...coming...back." she said, and slammed her fist on the ground. "Stop coming back!" she almost screamed.

If I were to die tomorrow, would you even care?

Footfalls became near silent as the girl entered the graveyard, her finger tips sliding across the gate as she stepped within, boots crushing the grass beneath. Her coat swung slightly on her back as she stared down upon two headstones. The names of her family engraved in those stones. Kayami Sakata, her mother, was the only one she dared stare at.

"I will fulfill my promise, Mother."

She spoke to the stone as if it could reply, then bowed, jerking back up when hearing a voice not too far away. A large tree standing proud behind her cast a shadow on her body, and once turned her foot landed on a leaf, the crunching noise evaporating into the rest of the nothing that she dwelled within. Dark eyes searched for the one whom screamed and found what seemed to be a person on the ground. A sigh, but no other noise. Maybe ignorance is best in these times.

"Why can't I cry?" Cade asked herself, and put her hands on her forhead. "God, come on." she said softly, and looked up at the dark sky. She then heard a rustle. Her head turned, eyes hardening. She faintly saw a human shadow, and decided it to be just her imagination.
She then looked back at her brother's headstone. "I can't believe I did this to you. I can't believe I was so selfish...they wouldn't give you back...I offered myself, but still, they said no." she said, her voice quiet but clear. "I'm so stupid, Joshua, so stupid." she said, and dug her fingers into the dirt.
It seemed to darken even more, the moon dissapearing behind a black clouds. It rained lightly. cade felt the raindrop on her head, and looked up.
"Yeah, you cry because I can't." she said softly, but her anger was clear.

Life is unpredictable, but sins are not, you know what you are doing and are marked for life.

A young woman walked into the graveyard. The skies were dark and instead of her uniform, she was dressed in all black. Her hair was pulled up tight, and her eyes expressionless, her face sober. She walked, as if in a trance, to the grave with one name on it that she wished wasn't there.

Rae G. Beck
Beloved Mother, Wife, Aunt, Cousin, and friend. May she rest peacefully as she takes the ever-unknown trip to the great beyond.

She looked over at the small, gray epitaph, and started talking, seemingly ignoring the other's around her. "Hey mom. How are you? Things are fine, it's my fifth year in the military and J-bird is starting to understand alchemy. That bastard, I don't know and I don't care where he is right now, but I just want you to know I'm taking care of things as best I can." She said it in an unnaturally high voice, trying to hold back the tears that fought it's way down her tanned cheeks. "Um...well, I have a few friends, and I'm getting better with my alchemy every day. And Jared misses you to, he says so all the time. I love you and miss you." she said before she broke down. She missed her mother, and so did her brother, it was cruel fate really. She saw to others there, but kept her distance, just so she wouldn't get in the way.

Cade heard someone else coming. She tucked her hair behind her ear, and turned her head. There were a lot of people tonight. Maybe they thought they would get more privacy. Yeah, right.
She stood up, and picked up the third rose. It had the most blood on it. Her blood. The blood she would have gladly traded six years ago. The blood she would gladly trade now.
She passed the girl that was sobbing. She obviously older than Cade, and Cade couldn't help but turn her head and look.
"I'm sorry." she said to her, and gripped the rose again, and then threw it on the grave she was sobbing over. Cade turned and began to walk away.
